- Fabric or Quilt with Forge or NeoForgeSupported, conflicting mods excluded
- Forge and NeoForge togetherNot yet supported
Fabric mods run via on-demand Mojang translation, Quilt mods run on servers with bundled Quilt Config (QSL does not run yet), and Forge and NeoForge are verified in game windows on 1.21.11 and on servers across 1.20.1 to 1.21.1 (there is no NeoForge for 1.20.1). Fabric API runs next to Forge on 1.20.1 and 1.20.4 by opening reviewed host-final methods, and Fabric mods run next to Forge and NeoForge on 1.21.11. Fabric and Quilt mods cannot share a game with NeoForge on 1.20.4 and 1.21.1 yet, and conflicting mods are left out before launch and counted on the title screen.
Fabric
SupportedFabric mods run the way they do in Fabric Loader, without installing Fabric Loader separately, and Fabric API is added automatically when missing.
View test details
Tested with popular Fabric mods (138 on 26.2, including Sodium, Iris and Lithium) in a game window and on servers on 26.1, 26.2 and 26.3. Fabric mods also run on 1.20.1, 1.20.4, 1.21.1 and 1.21.11 after one-time translation to Mojang names on the player's computer, tested on servers with game windows still to come.
NeoForge
SupportedPlexus Mod Loader runs NeoForge itself, downloading its files automatically on the first launch.
View test details
Tested with popular NeoForge mods (54 on 26.2, including Sodium and Iris) in a game window and on servers on 26.1 to 26.3. On older versions, NeoForge runs mods on 1.20.4, 1.21.1 and 1.21.11, verified in a game window on 1.21.11 and on servers on 1.20.4 and 1.21.1, while there is no NeoForge for 1.20.1.
Forge
SupportedPlexus Mod Loader runs MinecraftForge itself, downloading its files automatically on the first launch.
View test details
Tested with popular Forge mods (40 on 26.2) in a game window and on servers on 26.1 to 26.3 (Forge 66.1.0). On 1.20.1 to 1.21.11, Forge runs mods across all four versions, verified in a game window on 1.21.11 and on servers on 1.20.1, 1.20.4 and 1.21.1.
Quilt
SupportedQuilt mods run with the Quilt Loader API, their Mixins and access wideners—no separate Quilt Loader needed.
View test details
Tested with Quilt-only mods on Modrinth for 26.1 to 26.3, leaving out mods requiring QSL. Since 2.1.2, Quilt mods also run on servers on 1.20.1 to 1.21.11 with bundled Quilt Config, though Quilt Standard Libraries (QSL) and Quilted Fabric API do not run yet.
Mixing loaders
Supported, conflicting mods excludedFabric and Quilt mods can share one game with Forge mods or with NeoForge mods when their game patches fit.
View test details
Next to Forge on 26.2 and 26.3, conflicting mods are left out before launch and named on the title screen. Before 26.1, Fabric API runs next to Forge on 1.20.1 and 1.20.4, and Fabric mods run next to both loaders on 1.21.11, while Fabric and Quilt mods are kept apart from NeoForge on 1.20.4 and 1.21.1.
Plexus Mods
SupportedMods built with Plexus Mod Loader’s own version-independent Native API.
View test details
They run in single player and on dedicated servers across all 9 supported Minecraft versions (1.20.1 – 26.3) without rebuilding.
Why Plexus
Four mod ecosystems, one install
Players usually keep a separate profile for each loader, but Fabric and Quilt mods can share a game with Forge or NeoForge mods when their game patches fit. Plexus runs Fabric and Quilt mods through its own bridge with Mixin, and runs Forge's and NeoForge's own FML itself by downloading their files on the first launch.
Clear reasons instead of crashes
If a mod cannot run, it is left out with a PLEXUS-COMPAT code and a reason on the title screen and in the log, while your other mods still load. Before the game starts, Plexus checks each mod's metadata, dependencies, and Mixin patches against the game.
Works in the official launcher
You do not need a new launcher because the installer adds a Plexus Mod Loader profile directly to the official Minecraft Launcher. The same installer jar can also set up a dedicated server.
In the game

The title screen displays the mod counts active under each loader, with '+44 included' representing bundled submodules such as those in Fabric API. Excluded mods are also tallied, with the specific reasons for their exclusion detailed in the log.
Instead of crashing, the game identifies excluded mods before launch, showing Architectury (whose patches conflict with Forge) and Jade's NeoForge build (since Forge and NeoForge cannot run together). Detailed reasons for each exclusion are recorded in the log.
Security & Open-Source Transparency
Built with open-source rigor, verified releases, and community trust at its core.
MIT Open Source
All source code is publicly accessible under the MIT License. Inspect, verify, and contribute freely on GitHub.
SHA-256 Checksums
Every release includes cryptographic SHA-256 hashes so you can independently verify installer file integrity.
Documented Architecture
Detailed specifications for classloader topology, bytecode virtualizer, and multi-loader bridges are fully published.
For mod developers: Plexus Mods
Plexus Mods use Plexus Mod Loader’s Native API instead of Minecraft’s internal classes. The API is in preview and can still change between releases.
One build across supported versions
Because the API hides internal Minecraft classes, a mod using only the Native API can declare 1.20.1, 1.20.4, 1.21.1, 1.21.11 and 26.* without rebuilding.
Works next to Fabric mods
Plexus Mods and Fabric mods can depend on each other in the same game.
Errors that say what to fix
An invalid declaration stops at startup with a clear error code, instead of crashing later in a world.
Headless in-game tests
Run automated game tests with mock players on a headless test server straight from Gradle.
